This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Fairround
collects, why, who else handles it, how long it is kept, and what you
can do about it. It applies to https://fairround.app and to Fairround
itself. Our Terms of Service, at https://fairround.app/legal/terms,
govern your use of Fairround.
Fairround is operated by Briar Systems LLC, a Virginia limited liability
company ("Briar", "we", "us", and "our").
Fairround is offered only outside the European Union, the European
Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, and every account
holder is at least eighteen (18).
1 WHAT WE COLLECT

(a) Your Account. Your email address and name, whether your email
address has been verified, and, if you sign in with Google, your
Google account identifier and the address of your Google profile
picture. We do not keep Google's sign-in tokens after you sign in.
(b) Sign-In Sessions. For each signed-in session, the network address
and the browser it came from, to keep sessions secure and to detect
misuse of an account.
(c) Your Plans. The projects you save to your account, including the
information about people you enter into them, and your share links
and their settings.
(d) Workspaces. The workspaces you belong to, your role in each, and the
email addresses of people invited to them.
(e) Purchases. The billing country you choose before checkout, which we
pass to Polar with your name and email address. From Polar, our
reseller: which plan you bought, when it started, whether it is
active, when its period ends, whether a renewal payment failed, how
much of a payment was refunded, and Polar's identifiers for the
order or subscription. Before a subscription checkout, the automatic
renewal terms you agreed to and when, and, for each subscription,
the renewal reminders we sent you. Polar handles your payment
details, and we never receive them.
(f) Messages. What you write to us, and our replies.
(g) Server Logs. Technical records of requests to Fairround, including
the address they came from, the time, and the page requested.
(h) Abuse Limits. The network address of each attempt to sign in or to
open a passcode-protected plan, counted for no more than fifteen
(15) minutes to limit repeated attempts.
(i) Your Agreement. Which versions of our Terms of Service and this
Privacy Policy you accepted, and when.
2 HOW WE USE IT

We use personal information to provide Fairround to you, which is the
purpose of your agreement with us: to sign you in, save and arrange your
plans, publish what you choose to share, run workspaces, apply the plan
you bought, and answer you. We also use it to keep Fairround secure and
working, to prevent abuse, and to meet legal obligations such as tax
records. We email you sign-in links, workspace invitations, reminders
before a subscription renews, and notice of changes to your plan's price
or to these documents, and never marketing unless you ask for it. Polar,
as merchant of record, emails you receipts and notices about your
purchases and subscriptions.
We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context
behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising. We use no
advertising or analytics trackers, and no third party collects
information about your activity across sites through Fairround. Because
we do not track you across sites, we do not change what we do in
response to a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
3 SIGNING IN WITH GOOGLE

If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your name, email address,
whether Google has verified that address, your Google account
identifier, and the address of your profile picture, and nothing else.
We use them only to create and sign in to your account and to show your
name and picture in Fairround, we keep them for as long as your account
exists, and we share them with no one except the service providers in
Section 7. Your browser loads your profile picture directly from Google.
You can remove Fairround's access at any time from the security settings
of your Google account.
4 THE PEOPLE IN YOUR PLANS

The people named in a plan are usually not Fairround users. We hold
their information on behalf of the account holder who entered it, use it
only to provide Fairround to that account holder, and delete it when the
account holder deletes it. If you are named in a plan and want to know
about it or have it removed, ask the person who organized it, or write
to us at legal@fairround.app and we will help.
5 SHARED PLANS

When an account holder publishes a plan, anyone with its link can see
the plan's name, its venue, dates, and times, its groups, seats, rounds,
or roles, and the names of the people in it, with people who share a
party, or a value in the first column the account holder added, shown in
the same colour. They can look up where one person is, embed the page,
or subscribe to its calendar feeds, unless the account holder protects
the link with a passcode. Other details the account holder entered, such
as notes, tags, the values of other columns, and rules, are never shown.
Shared pages ask search engines not to index them. A link stops working
as soon as its owner turns it off or replaces it.
6 COOKIES AND STORAGE ON YOUR DEVICE

Fairround stores only what it needs on your device, and nothing for
advertising or analytics:
- sign-in cookies, which keep you signed in and protect the sign-in
process
- a cookie that keeps a passcode-protected plan open for twelve (12)
hours after you enter its passcode
- your choice of light or dark theme, in your browser's local storage
- projects you create before signing in, in your browser's storage,
which stay on your device and reach us only if you save them to your
account
These are strictly necessary for the service you asked for, so we do not
ask for consent to them. You can clear them from your browser at any
time, which signs you out and removes projects kept only on that device.
7 SERVICE PROVIDERS

The personal information Fairround stores is kept in the United States.
These companies handle it for us, under contracts that limit them to
providing their service:

We may also disclose personal information when the law requires it, to
protect the rights and safety of our users or others, or to a successor
if the business of Fairround is transferred, which remains bound by this
policy.
8 HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
================================================================================

9 YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS

In Fairround you can change your name, download everything we hold about
your account from Settings, turn off any share link, delete projects as
our Terms of Service describe, and delete your account.
Wherever you live, you may ask us to confirm whether we hold personal
information about you, to give you a copy of it, to correct it, or to
delete it. Much of this you can do yourself in Fairround, as described
above. For anything else, write to legal@fairround.app. We verify that
the request comes from you, usually by replying to the email address on
the account, and we answer within forty-five (45) days. We do not charge
for a request, and we do not treat you differently for making one. If we
decline a request, we tell you why, and you may ask us to reconsider by
replying to that answer.
10 SECURITY AND INCIDENTS

We protect personal information with encryption in transit, access
limited to the people who operate Fairround, named accounts with
multi-factor authentication for our own access to production systems,
and providers who maintain their own security programs. No system is
perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your personal
information, we notify you and any authority as the law of your state
requires, including Virginia Code Section 18.2-186.6.
11 CHILDREN
================================================================================
Accounts are for adults. Fairround is not directed at children under
thirteen (13), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from
them. An account holder may enter information about minors, such as a
youth team roster, only as their parent or guardian or with the
authority of the organization responsible for them. A parent or guardian
may ask us at legal@fairround.app to delete information about their
child.
12 CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may change this document. When a change is material, we tell you by
email to your account address or in Fairround at least thirty (30) days
before it takes effect, and the date in the banner of the new version
shows when it was made. A change never applies to anything that happened
before it took effect.
